Search Help

There are two ways to search the Today in Sport archives, by date and by keyword(s).

The first is by date. To search via a date enter the day and/or month and/or year you would like to search by and click the "Search by Date" button. Possible date searches:

• Day, Month and Year e.g.15 August 1971
• Day and Month e.g.15 August All Years
• Day and Year e.g.15 All Months 1971
• Month and Year e.g.All Days August 1971
• Day only e.g.15 All Months All Years
• Year only e.g.All Days All Months 1971

The second is by keyword or keywords. To search via keyword enter in more than three letters or numbers and less than fifty and click the "Search by Keyword(s)" button.

• Single Keyword Search e.g. cricket
• Multiple Keyword Search e.g. baseball

• You can search in more than one archive at once.
  e.g. You can tick two or all three of the Events in Sport, Birthdays in Sport and Deaths in Sport boxes.
• Capitalization is ignored. e.g.cricket and Cricket return the same results.
• If you want to search for all years type in "All Years" in the box to the right of month box.
• A maximum of 300 results are shown per page. To view more results please click on the Next >> link or alternatively on the individual page links, at the bottom of each set of results. A << Prev link is available on result pages other than the original page.
• All result pages are unique and thus can be bookmarked and linked to. When clicked the links will deliver the same results as you searched for.
• Didn't find what you were looking for? Please consider adding it to the archives once you do.
