Biography: Fred Couples is an American professional golfer who made his mark in both the PGA Tour and the PGA Tour Champions, earning the nickname "Boom Boom" for his the accuracy and distance of his driving.

The former World No. 1 player's professional career took off in the 1980s, with a major highlight in 1992 when he won the Masters Tournament. In total, Couples has won more than a dozen PGA Tour events.

Couples has also been a staple in team competitions for the United States, participating in multiple Ryder Cup and Presidents Cup tournaments. He would later captain the U.S. Presidents Cup team to victory on multiple occasions.

After transitioning to the senior circuit, Couples continued to amass wins on the PGA Tour Champions. He was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 2013.
