Biography: Played 13 seasons in the NBA, twelve of them with the Boston Celtics, where he won Rookie of the Year (1971), League MVP award (1973), and two NBA Championships (1974 & 1976). He served as player-coach during most of the 1978-79 season, relinquishing the coach position for his final season before retiring in 1980.

In 1982, he returned for one more season, playing for the Milwaukee Bucks. After his final retirement as a player, he coached the Charlotte Hornets and the Golden State Warriors.
